The Hype Machine.
The Hype Machine is where I get quite a bit of music that I download, As it’s a search engine that looks for music that’s posted on blogger posts. You can actually find pretty much anything there, From not well known bands to quite famous ones. Also it’s where I get alot of my remixes from, Also covers too. Actually I just searched and found a whole load of songs Elliott Smith covered and I waaaant them. But I suppose I’ll have to be patent and wait till I’m allowed, Or when we get back home. Actually one kind of crap thing is whenever I’m here on Monday or Tuesday I always manage to get a song/album stuck in my head that I own, just don’t have with me or on my mp3 player, which is annoying. This week it’s Babyshambles ‘Down In Albion’, Which come to mention it, I haven’t listened to alot of for awhile.
Holy batman, Death Cab For Cutie covering The Cure. Also The Arcade Fire covering The Clash. I want it because it’s the song ‘Guns of Brixton’. Also RHCP covering Radiohead’s ‘Lucky’, Which is an awesome song as it has my name in it. See, What I do is I’ll type in an artist and either ‘cover’ or ‘remixes’ to find all of whichever it is of each artist. Also alot of covers of songs by The Smiths, Though Pete Yorn’s version of ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’ and Stars ‘This Charming Man’ are particular favorites of mine.
Anyways. Supper time. Also please note from now on most of my titles will be from what I’m listening to (if anything, as right now I’m not.)
I think you’re really wierd.
So yesterday we came over to theapartment, and on the way there, the car broke down so we had to get a ride from the nice manager of the petro can we managed to get to, and got the car towed. It was defenetly an interesting drive though, So that was fun. Today we went to see aunt boo coz the car was all fixed, and that was a nice time. There were a couple guys over to see if they could get this old truck that was down this hill behind her house out, And Boo was telling me how every few years someone comes along and wants to get it out, but they can never manage it. It’s from 1949 too, So it must’ve been down there awhile. And I got to play one of Leroy’s guitars for a few minutes so I was glad I was reunited with a guitar (Coz, I haven’t played it in like more than 24 hours!!!1 11 OMG!! ). But not much else going on. It was once again a very nice day, so all the windows were open and there was a nice breeze. And I was listening to Radiohead today so that was awesome. The Album ‘Pablo Honey’, To be exact, Which I haven’t managed to listen to the whole way through (Got to the track ‘Vegtable’ though, so it’s a start). Then I got distraced and listened to other Radiohead tunes (Let Down) and mostly stared into space.
Sun.
So far today it’s been really sunny. And warm. So I sat outside and read my book. It’s called ‘How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, And got a life.’
It’s actually funny because one of my mom’s internet friends sent here a big box of books through the mail, That was one of them. It’s been taken off the market because it was plagerized, And I’ve read the book it was supposedly plagerized off of. Which is pretty funny.
Anyways. Nice weather we’re having. I saw at least a dozen people walk by while I was outside, Which was cool. Then Emma came outside and kept talking to me so that makes it hard to concentrate on reading. And listening to music. My mom says I have scizophrenic music tastes, As on my current playlist I have Jay-Z, Bob Dylan, My Chemical Romance and a few remixes of various popular songs. I have a thing for remixes. I actually found a really good one for the song ‘Heaven Only Knows’ by K-os, Which my dad would probably like as well.. I like to (horribly attempt to) try doing remixes of songs, but the program I use, I just found out (after using it for the past 4 months) that to use the effects you just have to highlight the audio. Felt kind of stupid after that, Then proceeded to speed songs up to twice there speed (Do you want to by Franz Ferdinand, chipmunk style, anyone?) and called it a ‘chipmix’, Listened to it once then forgot about it completely. And mashups are also fun, Especially with my mass of music. I seem to have a thing for listening to anything I can get my hands on. Which would explain the whole Jay-z/Bob Dylan thing. Onetime at the pawn shop near where we’re moving, The lady there looked at me wierd because of the 8 CD’s I picked out, There was Jay-z, Grateful Dead, The Cure, Outkast, Moby… and I can’t remember what else I got then, Either. Though that pawn shop is amazing because I finally managed to buy one of my favorite CD’s, The Stills Logic Will Break Your Heart, In case anyone was wondering. Other favorites include Radiohead’s Amnesiac and Matthew Good’s Avalanche. Funny though, Those were the first albums I’d heard by each artist. Radiohead’s other albums are all amazing, But I love the song ‘You and Who’s Army?’ as it seems to get me to sleep. Actually seems to make my head fill with a big black box, But who know’s what that’s about.
It doesn’t feel like a friday.
I had all these post ideas in my head, But now I can’t seem to think of them. Which I suppose could be considered unfortunate, Or maybe not depending on who you are. I’m sure I talk enough already though.
I’ve been reading Matthew Good’s (as seen in my blogroll) blog more lately, and it’s actually kind of interesting. I particulaly like when he randomly posts a short (fictional) story and doesn’t tell you it is. Kind of like some of the stories in his book, You’ll read them and go ‘Oh… I know what song this is from…’
Yeah. Also haven’t written in awhile. I haven’t been writing much lately. I don’t really have much to write anymore.
